Terry Williams, 91st Air Refueling Squadron, enjoy watching the Bucs beat the Saints Sunday at the Superdome in New Orleans, La.

Many deployments include several months away from family and friends, limited phone calls (if any) and a lack of steaks, cheese burgers and cheesecakes.

The Florida citrus industry realizes that deployments are tough and rewarded a few MacDill members by providing them tickets to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New Orleans Saints game Sunday. The recently-returned troops departed the Tampa International Airport aboard the "Bucs party plane" charter to Louisiana. They sat in the Superdome and watched the Bucs beat the Saints, 14 to 7.

Among the attendees were:

  • Army Staff Sgt. Louis Sisneros, U.S. Special Operations Command
  • Tech. Sgt. Kent Denney, 6th Logistics Readiness Squadron
  • Tech. Sgt. James Snapp, 6th Security Forces Squadron
  • Tech. Sgt. Terry Williams, 91st Air Refueling Squadron
  • Staff Sgt. Kelly Davis, 6th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron
  • Staff Sgt. Emmitt Lane, Joint Communications Support Element
  • Marine Sgt. Jerome Halloway, U.S. Central Command Staff Sgt.
  • Tori Maeder, 6th AMW Command Post
  • The MacDill member's enjoyed their one-day excursion the Bucs game, "It was a great coming-home present," said Sgt. Snapp. "I just got back in country Dec. 4 when I heard the good news." When asked if he enjoyed the day he responded, "Do you have to ask?"

Sgt. Maeder, who was deployed for 231 days, said, "I had a great day. It was a good way to spend the holidays."

The MacDill members flew home happy as they were grateful to be back from their deployment and happy that the Bucs won.
