Big for a day MacDill’s Big For A Day offers volunteers the opportunity to spend time with children April 29 at pre-planned activities for a few hours. Through this program, kids on the waiting list get to meet new friends and experience new things while they are waiting for a long-term match with a big brother or big sister. Bowling - MacDill lanes will offer games for $1 per Big and Little from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Bowling after that time will cost full price. Military working dogs - Two demonstration shows at Coon's Creek at 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. Explosive ordnance robot - Demonstrations will be at Coon's Creek at 9:45, 10:30, 11:15 and noon. Lunch - Free pizza and drinks at Coon's Creek from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Bouncy castle/volleyball - Available only for children at Coon's Creek. Fire truck display - Sparky the fire dog will be at Coon's Creek. Humvee and patrol car rides - Available at Coon's Creek along with McGruff the crime dog. Youth Center activities - Pool, basketball, air hockey, ping-pong, volleyball and foosball games will be available at the Youth Center. Aircraft displays - Flightline. Transportation - Buses will pick up and drop off at Coon's Creek, Youth Center, MacDill Lanes and the flightline.
