The SNCO tradition continues July 23

Senior Master Sgt. Cotious Arnold
MacDill Top III president

It is with deep and sincere pleasure - both personally and professionally - to welcome our newest master sergeant selects into the senior noncommissioned officer corps.

Years of preparation and hard work have finally paid dividends for these future senior leaders. Promotion ceremonies are steeped in tradition and being promoted to master sergeant is a milestone requiring special emphasis on tradition. Our master sergeant selects are not merely being promoted one pay grade, they are joining an exclusive fraternity.

The term tradition refers to passing on, rewriting or a rearranging of the past. Tradition brings individuals together and creates a collective consciousness. Our enlisted leader, Command Chief Master Sgt. Lew Monroe, the Chiefs Group and the MacDill Top III are passing on, rewriting and rearranging this tradition.

MacDill's Senior Non-Commissioned Officer Induction Banquet will be held at the Surf's Edge Enlisted Club July 23. The banquet will be the capstone event of the four-day SNCO symposium. Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force Paul Airey and Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force Sam Parish will be guest speakers at this year's banquet as we pay homage to our newest crop of senior NCOs.

The ceremony will inaugurate the master sergeant selects into the "Top III." Moreover, the military traditions of crossing through the saber team, reenactment of the significance of the POW-MIA table and the ceremonial reading of the SNCO responsibility charge will be on display.

See your unit representative for tickets to what's sure to be a "world class" event.
