The HAWC's cholesterol screenings will be on the last Friday of the month from 8 to 10 a.m. A 12-hour fast is required (water intake and prescribed medications only). No appointment or registration is necessary.
Would you like to enhance your running performance? If so, call the HAWC to enroll in the Running Clinic. Participants will learn running mechanics, proper shoe selection, and injury prevention. Sessions are held the fourth Thursday of the month at 2 p.m.
Learn and practice proven, specific strategies and techniques to reduce and manage stress symptoms in this specially designed stress management program. Sessions are offered on the second Tuesday of each month at the HAWC from noon to 1 p.m. Call the HAWC to enroll.
Bone Health Class
Approximately 25 million American men and women suffer from osteoporosis, a bone-weakening disease. The HAWC offers a Bone Health Class on the fourth Monday of the month from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. where individuals will learn valuable information on how to help prevent this debilitating disease. Bone density screenings are conducted during this class.
Healthy Back Class
Do you suffer from low back pain and/or dysfunction? Attend the Healthy Back Class and receive beneficial exercise instruction and educational information from a physical therapist. This class is held on the second Thursday of the month from 2 to 3 p.m. at the HAWC. Call to register.
Smoking Cessation via Smoke Signals Program
Stop smoking using the latest computer technology via the Smoke Signals device. Smoke Signals systematically breaks the link between your triggering situations and reaching for a cigarette. Attend this one-hour per week class and learn how to develop life long healthy behaviors. Instruction focuses on reducing modifiable risk factors associated with high blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol, obesity and cancer.
