Grand opening at Boomers kicks off in style

Patrons enjoyed free food, prizes and fun March 18 during the grand opening of Boomers Bar and Grill located inside the Surf's Edge Club.

The event kicked off with a ribbon cutting ceremony by Col. Irvin B. Lee, 6th Mission Support Group commander, and Debbie Butler, Enlisted Club manager.

Guests in attendance included the Bellamy Brothers, representatives from the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, the Tampa Bay Lightning, Hooters Restaurant and Ticketmaster.

Patrons experienced a wide range of pleasurable amenities which included two new pool tables and dart boards, a juke box and video game area. Booths with personal TV's, two projection TV's, and a state of the art sound, light and video system.

"With this new and improved look the club is more up to date than before," said Butler.

In addition to the new look, a full-service bar and a lunch and dinner menu, offering an array of food choices, are now available.

Those in attendance for the grand opening were able to sample a free buffet that included items from the new menu.

Raffle tickets were handed out and prizes were awarded during several drawings to those lucky individuals with the winning numbers.

A monthly calendar of events can be found in the 6th Services Squadron magazine, "Base, Bay and Beyond."

All club members receive a $2 discount per meal on purchases of $4 or more, excluding alcoholic beverages.
